Back in the saddle again

If you have been following lately you surely noticed that my progress has lagged and my photos had gone away. I host my pictures on Photobucket, a free webhost site. As this blog has grown, the number of people viewing my pictures has increased to a level where Photobucket refused to host my pictures for free any longer. That caused my pictures to disappear for awhile. I finally bit the bullet and paid the 25 bucks to upgrade my account to a pro level, assuring the pictures would stay posted regardless of web traffic I generate here.

I don't have any real progress to report on the truck project. Awhile back, my buddy who owns a wrecker service found me a nice little 63 short bed truck. It's a decent original owner unmolested truck, all complete. I bought it from him for 500 dollars. The truck isn't pretty by any standards, but it is complete and sound. What I plan to do is to take all of the parts you've seen me refurbish here and install them onto the new truck I bought. That will give ma a decent little truck with all new mechanical items. The end result should be me on the road by Thanksgiving for much, much less money spent.

I will of course post daily updates of the whole ordeal. I have to wait until the 1st of October to take delivery of the new truck. It's under impound at his yard while the state is transferring the title to him, then to me. I have a good paperwork trail on the process so there is nothing flaky going on about the deal. The state simply required two certified letters be sent to the previous owner and a waiting period of 30 days to lapse before it can be legally sold to me.

In other matters, in two weeks, I will have been dating my current girlfriend for 1 year. We have yet to have a fight or even a hint of a fight. It's been a good time and I am very content. She's been my sidekick through this whole truck deal and on a bunch of adventures in the last year. It was her who finally talked me into buying this other truck I told you about. It took me a few months to figure out myself and to establish good lines of communication between us, but that has all fallen into place and has been very, very smooth sailing. I love her dearly.
